Already aired on some PBS outlets, Final Solution offers recent history with nuanced acting, realistic screenwriting, and a scriptural angle. It tells the true story of a white South African, Gerrit Wolfaardt (Jan Ellis), committed to ridding his country of its native black population during the apartheid government’s reign. His future wife (Liezel van der Merwe) and a compassionate township pastor (Tony award-winner John Kani) lead the racist to a biblical search that dispels hate.

Years later, the protagonist comes face to face with an innocent victim (Mpho Lovinga) of his earlier lifestyle. The violence of that initial scuffle and a couple of other scenes is realistic without being sensationalized.

Final Solution is a forthright, unglamorized depiction of Christ’s transforming power on an individual and a society. A hit at indie film fests, it’s a sober, hopeful movie of a caliber sadly rare in Christian cinema.

Final Solution won the Crystal Heart Award at the 2002 Heartland Film Festival and was named Best Picture at the 2002 Intl. Christian Visual Media Crown Awards. Not a bad start for Integrity Media and executive producer and former NBA All Star A.C. Green.
